The musical

The story about a selfish girl called Hana who wants to be an object of everybody's attention. By chance she recognizes her own character and decides to change her life and her attitude to other people.

Scene 1:

School corridor

I have overslept again. Which excuse today? I don't feel like going there. It's the same all the time. Hana is going to scream and be hysterical about her broken nail. I wonder who she has managed to insult this morning. And Jerry is going to eat out of her hand and all the girls envy her new jumper... Well, I'm going in.

Scene 2:

In the classroom

Good morning, Ms, excuse me please, a car spattered my clothes with mud and I had to go home to change them.
T: Sit down. - Hana is going to be examined.
H: Damned, why me?

Me,
why me to be examined,
I know nothing,
It's because of you.
You were with me
Chemistry, what is chemistry for?
Oh, Jerry, why did you take me to the cinema?
It's because of you,
Don't come to see me any more,
Leave me in peace.

T: What can you tell me about the triad of iron?
H: Well, iron..........iron...
Eva: Nickel...
Zuzana: Cobalt..
T: Be quiet! Do you know anything, Hana?
H: Cobalt, nickel, iron, these are the metals...
T: Nothing more? Sit down! It's fail mark.

Scene 3:

A break in the classroom
Hana with her admirers.

Hana is the best,
She's never yesterday's.
I want to be like her,
With lots of boys all around.
Simply Hana,
She is never all alone.
Who won't join her, avoid her.
She means a model for me,
She hates defiance,
And not only for me...
A model for everyone.
Simply Hana,
Everybody laughs at what she says.

Hana is shouting, accusing her friends of getting F from chemistry.

Why couldn't you help me? I won't to learn it myself! You're not worthy of notice!
Z: But Hana, we tried.
E: It was impossible.
H: Impossible? Why are you here? And Jerry! His devoted eyes of a dog... They say - love. He was wasting my time yesterday; I didn't have time for anything. He starts to annoy me.
J: I wanted to be with you and this is your reward?
H: Shut up and mind your own business. I'm sick of you. You're good enough only for the poor Helen. Go to her! She'll be pleased.

Jerry is singing

I'm alone,
I don't feel anything
Except my love for you.
How to bind you to me?
How to tell you: I love you!?

When I go in the dark of the night,
I can see you.
I want to feel you with me.
I want to tell you: I can't live without you.
I'm alone, I don't want to be alone, I need a friend,
I want to be only with you, I know I love you very much.

Scene 4:

In front of the school after the lessons.
Hana among her admirers, swearing.

I'll go mad! I wish I had holidays. Why do they think I'll learn? I'll bear it but I won't study!
E: Let's go for a coke!
Helen: Hana, could I go with you?
H: Will you pay?
Helen: I don't have so much money.
H: What a shame! Girls, let's go!

Cyril: I'll pay for you!
Hana: You? You should go home and study...
C: But I...

Cyril is left on the pavement, Helen is crying and she goes back to the classroom. She is singing.

I'm sitting alone in the classroom,
watching the blackboard.
No friend is here
Who would love me a bit.
I'd love to be well-liked by everybody,
not to be neglected.
When everybody goes for a coke,
I can't sit with them at the table.
Why am I so unlucky?

I don't want to be so helpless
And be always so lonely.
He hasn't smiled at me for a long time,
As if he was afraid of me,
As if he despised me.
Why am I so lonely?
I want to have lots of friends
And to the cinema go with them.
But I can only dream of it.

Cyril comes to the classroom, smiles at her, dries her tears and invites her for an ice-cream. He is singing.

A good friend appears when I need him,
You will recognize him easily, he'll like you.
When your fate shows you its bad side,
Your friend comes always in time.

Learn to love with him,
Not to know unhappiness,
Forget about all the bad things,
Get the best out of your life.
Put the bad memories aside,
Tell them good-bye.
Take his hand
And never let him go.

They are leaving and singing.

Give me your hand, don't follow the evil. The good will win against it. The world will be without crises. He'll help you, he can't be without you'
Friendship of two people is strong,
He is the fool who is ashamed of it.

Scene 5:

A bench in a park

Cyril and Helen are having a good time. Hana and her friends appear.

Hana: Look! There they are! The two poor darlings have paired up! What a lovely pair they are! - And the ice-cream should have been for me, shouldn't it?

She stumbles, injures her leg, holds her ankle with her hand, her face ic full of pain.

Scene 6:

Classroom before the lessons

Hana is standing behind the door listening. All the students are singing. Everything was super when Hana was ill. Why does she behave like this? Why is she showing off all the time? Nobody is interested in her. But everybody would give her a hand if she wanted to change her life.

Nobody cares for her invectives,
Nobody is afraid of her!
Nobody is interested in her,
So why is she always showing off?

We must tell her
To throw her false pride away,
To stop her boasting
And making fun of everyone.
We must tell her to put her pride away,
To stop her boasting
And making fun of us.
Let her try herself
To listen to her disgusting things.
She is the evil
Which dominates our class.
We must tell her...

Bridge Let her think of herself and realise
We all must be friends and give each other hands.

Someone opens the door. Silence, Hana is standing at the door, she is afraid od entering the classroom after having heard that nobody liked her. Silence is getting longer and longer. She interrupts the situation with a quiet voice. Well, I'll take a shot of it. (I'll try it).

Helen comes to her, takes her hand and brings her to the classroom amo0ng the others. She sings.

Take my hand, take my hand and let's spread our wings.
Keep my hand, keep my hand and we will fly toward the sky.
And so we will meet a wonderful colour, that green, oh dreams.
